Founded in 2017, Baldwin County Boss Babes was created with one mission: to support and celebrate small businesses across the Gulf Coast.

What started as a community for women entrepreneurs has grown into one of Baldwin County's premier handmade and small business markets, bringing together more than 100 vendors and thousands of shoppers at each signature event. While our name reflects our roots, our events welcome businesses of all backgrounds and provide a place where makers, creators, artists, and entrepreneurs can connect with their community.

More than just a market, Baldwin County Boss Babes is built on the belief that shopping small makes a lasting impact. Every event is thoughtfully planned to create an enjoyable experience for shoppers while allowing local businesses to grow, gain exposure, and build lasting customer relationships.

Community has always been at the heart of what we do. Through our annual events, we've proudly donated more than $25,000 to local nonprofit organizations, proving that supporting small businesses can also make a meaningful difference close to home.

As we celebrate nearly a decade of bringing people together, we remain committed to creating quality events that showcase local talent, strengthen our community, and make shopping small an experience worth returning to year after year.

Kim Bates

Founder

After more than a decade working in a shipyard environment, Kim built her career around operations, coordination, and getting things done in fast-paced, high-demand settings. At the same time, she was building something of her own as a children’s book author with Gravel Road Whimsy Press, selling at markets and learning firsthand what it actually takes to grow a small business from the ground up.

She saw the gap early. There were plenty of talented women, but not enough real opportunities to be seen, supported, or taken seriously. So she teamed up with Jenelle, and they created what they could not find.

What started as a small Facebook group has grown into a strong, engaged community; Kim focuses on financials, vendor selection, booth placement, branding and marketing. She stays hands-on by design, focused on creating events and opportunities that are organized, intentional, and worth showing up for.

Born and raised near Dothan, Alabama, she has always considered Baldwin County her second hometown. She has deep ties to Baldwin County as her ancestors were among the founding fathers of Loxley. She has been married to her husband Tim for 20 years, and together they have one son. Working a full-time career, running Baldwin County Boss Babes, and writing children’s books means she understands the balancing act behind building something meaningful while still showing up for the people who matter most. That perspective is at the core of everything she has built with BCBB.

Jenelle Moyer

Co-Founder

Jenelle Moyer is the co-founder of Baldwin County Boss Babes, a community she and her business partner, Kim, created to give small business owners—especially moms—a supportive place to grow their businesses, connect with other entrepreneurs, and showcase the products they love.

As co-founder, Jenelle oversees many of the behind-the-scenes details that help each event run smoothly. She manages vendor approvals, contracts, and invoicing while coordinating vendor check-in and creating a welcoming, enjoyable experience for shoppers on market day.

In addition to her work with Baldwin County Boss Babes, Jenelle is a travel advisor with Magical Destinations Travel, bringing more than 10 years of experience helping families, couples, and groups plan unforgettable vacations. She specializes in cruises and theme park vacations, making the planning process easy and stress-free for her clients.

Originally from South Bend, Indiana, Jenelle moved to the Gulf Coast at the age of 21 and is proud to call it home. She has been married to her husband, Brian, for 28 years, and together they have one daughter. Whether she’s organizing successful community events or helping clients plan their next adventure, Jenelle is passionate about creating memorable experiences and supporting others along the way.
